In the north eastern part of the Indian state, lays a picturesque land called Arunachal Pradesh. This means “the land of the rising sun”. Women are found showing a variety of tribal jewelries. These jewelries are not used as objects of adornments but also as a symbol of regional integrity and self esteem. The embellishments are used from their head to toe. They wear headbands which are made up of bird feathers and in between styled by colorful beads. The necklaces they wear are made of the green wings of beetles and blanched matte finished, wild fruit seeds.

For example the Wancho tribe stress more on wooden and bamboo made jewelries. Their women wear light jewelries cut out of bamboo and other light plant barks. The men of this state prefer to experiment with bracelets, headbands and waistbands. They bring out the manliness and savage bravery in them. Along with the feathers of birds, ivory and animal bones are also used which shows that they are aware of the benefits of organic products.

The folk music of Bengal is as rich and varied as the topographical features of its different regions. In the hands of a skilled dhuli, the dhol almost seems to speak, sometimes with a voice of thunder and sometimes with the subdued laughter of friends exchanging badinage. The one-stringed khamak becomes string and percussion in one as a baul singer plays it as he sings.
